I took photos of the whole process from wire to bracelet. Other folks have told me that they use copper or silver wire, but this works and is super cheap. $3 for 120 yards! My wheel is a Louet S17, I absolutely love it.  I&#8217;ve never used any other wheel, so I don&#8217;t know what else is out there, but I took to this one right away.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/3-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/3-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/3-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/3.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I pulled out about 10 yards of wire and wrapped it around an empty pill bottle, securing it with a ponytail holder.  You need to be able to let the wire just hang while you work with it and the spool of wire is too heavy to let it just turn as needed.  The trick here is to hold the fiber yet let the wire spin freely.  Otherwise, it kinks up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/4-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"4\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/4-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/4-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/4.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First, you attach the wire to the wire leader.  A yarn leader won&#8217;t work here because it won&#8217;t force the wire to turn like a wire leader will.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/5-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"5\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/5-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/5.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is the fluff I&#8217;m using.  It&#8217;s merino top, dyed by a local spinner\/dyer &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lunabudknits.com\/\">Lunabudknits<\/a>, purchased at my favorite local yarn shop, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atangledyarn.com\/\">A Tangled Yarn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/6-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"6\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/6-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/6.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You pull out a little fluff and put it under the wire, then start spinning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/7-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"7\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/7-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/7.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You want to kind of pinch the fiber over on itself, but not pinch the wire.  I sort of pinch right beside the wire. These cans are nice because the bottom of the can doesn&#8217;t have a lip for the wire to get caught on.  So it slides right off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/13.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/13-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"13\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/13-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/13.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ta-da!  Pretty pink and black fiber spun onto a wire core!  Now, to turn it into a bracelet!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/14.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/14-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"14\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/14-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/14.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a chunk of that o-ring that the guy at the bead shop (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dandelionbeads.net\/dandelionbeads\/HOME.html\">Dandelion Bead Connection<\/a>, I highly recommend them for your beading needs) gave me.  It&#8217;s about 8mm in diameter, the whole thing was probably 4 feet long when I got it.  I&#8217;m almost out of it, I&#8217;ve picked up some aquarium tubing to try next, but I thought for the tutorial I&#8217;d stick with what I knew worked.  This is a solid core and the tubing is hollow, so it&#8217;s going to take me a bit to figure out how to deal with it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/15-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"15\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-208\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/15-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/15.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I use my dremel to drill a tiny hole about 1\/4 inch from each end.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/16.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/16-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"16\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/16-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/16.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using some very fine wire (I think that this too is 26 gauge) I anchor the wire through the hole and make a loop on the end.  It doesn&#8217;t matter if the parts on the sides are kind of ugly, they&#8217;ll be covered up when you start wrapping.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/17.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/17-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"17\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/17-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/17.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I start wrapping at one end, tucking the end of the wire up under what I&#8217;m wrapping so that it&#8217;ll be secure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/18.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/18-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"18\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/18-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/18.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and then you wrap<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/19.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/19-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"19\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/19-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/19.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and wrap<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/20.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/20-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"20\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/20-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/20.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and wrap, keeping your wire tight together as you go.  I think I used less than 5 yards to make the bracelet, but I wanted to be sure I had plenty.  Besides, I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll have no problem finding homes for multiple pink bracelets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/21-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"21\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/21-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/21.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I put a tiny bit of glue on each end, to keep the ends tight and stop any fraying.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/22.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/22-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"22\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/22-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/22.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then I use a couple of split rings to attach each half of a toggle clasp to the ends.  I just like toggle clasps for bracelets, I find them easier to connect one handed than the ring clasps.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/23.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/23-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"23\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/23-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dementedramblings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/23.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And it is a bracelet!<\/p>\n<p>When I originally set forth to make these bracelets, I couldn&#8217;t find any tutorials beyond the spinning of the wire.  I had to feel my way through it.
